T Shrit yarn basket

Every time I surf the internet in search of ideas for a DIY project I run into these lovely crochet baskets made with t-shrit yarn. So I decided to have a go at it and see how it would be to crochet XXL.
Surprisingly enough it was quite easy to get these yarn where I live, so didn't have to make mine....I really love what I come out with. I promise to upload soon a tutorial on this because they are really easy to make!

Granny Square Baby Blanket

Here's a baby blanket I made for my little niece Emma. It's the second blanket I have ever made in my life. It only took me 4 days to crochet it, spending  no more than 2 hours each day. For some (including my grandma) this may seem like an eternity...but for me...it was super fast! I crocheted this blanket using only 25 granny squares. I then joined the squares using a single crochet stitch, making sure the "window effect" would stay on what later would become the front of my blanket. Usually we want this effect to go at the back of the blanket, but for this project I wanted the squares to stand out.
Finally, once I put together all of the squares, I simply crocheted around it, pretending I was making one big granny square.
For the border, I crocheted the last two rows using a single crochet stitch in different colours and I ended my blanket with bobble stitch which I found in Heidi Bears Blog: http://heidibearscreative.blogspot.co.nz/2012/01/crocheted-bobble-edging-tutorial.html

Hope you like it ;)
